Eligibility
  • Open for school and college students studying in Class 9 to 12, graduation and postgraduation level.
  • Students must be referred by Goonj employees, associates or NGOs working with Goonj.
  • Students must have obtained at least 50% marks in their previous examination. 
  • Annual family income of the applicants must be less than INR 5 lakh from all sources.
  • Only Indian nationals can apply.

*The amount of scholarship may vary depending on the educational expenses of the students and availability of funds. The scholarship funds can be utilized only for academic expense purposes which includes tuition fees, food, hostel fee, internet, books, stationery, online learning, etc.

The purpose behind Goonj Honhaar Kind Circle is to financially support the talented and meritorious children belonging to the families of Goonj team members and NGOs & communities working for Goonj PAN India. The primary reason behind the launch of Goonj Honhaar Kind Circle is to uplift and empower these students to pursue their educational dreams and increase their employability, despite any monetary and other limitations.

Through this initiative, the Goonj team seeks to make education affordable for a minimum of 100 students across India in the academic year 2022-23.

About Goonj

Goonj is a multi-award-winning social enterprise. Since 1999, it has been building a network of communities, channelising the discarded material of cities to fuel widespread development work across rural India. The Goonj team regards this material as a parallel currency, capable of bringing dignity to the underprivileged and marginalised communities. 

With the direct and indirect, material and non-material contributions by its donors and partners, Goonj has been able to address crucial gaps in the areas of rural infrastructure, water, environment, livelihood, education, health, disaster relief, and rehabilitation.
